Arianna Mercado

Arianna Mercado is a cultural worker from Manila currently based in London. She is the co-founder of Kiat Kiat Projects, a nomadic curatorial initiative. Arianna’s research interests have focused on comradeship and celebration in parallel to the materiality of power and geopolitical entanglements. She received her MFA in Curating from Goldsmiths, University of London, where she is a lecturer on the department of art. Arianna currently works at Afterall, a contemporary arts research center within the University of the Arts London.

Recently, she curated Ópera de Balcón at Cell Project Space and Tools of the Trade with Kiat Kiat Projects. Arianna was also involved in the inaugural cycle of Singapore Art Museum’s residency program. She edited the anthology Isles and islands for the British Council, and has written on Pow Martinez for Ocula, Shireen Seno in the 2nd issue of tractions: experiments in art writing, and meditations on curatorship and labor in the 19th issue of Ctrl+P Journal of Contemporary Art.
