Moving House, Unpacking a life of critical art making is an installation art performance by Judy Freya Sibayan. For three months, Sibayan worked on unpacking her accumulated four decades of art archives and collections.
Beyond physically sorting through, Sibayan also unpacks her performance in Moving House as a work of Institutional Critique, a practice resulting from her own resignation in 1989 as director of the Contemporary Art Museum of the Philippines at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Emerging from a critique on power inequities in the production of art, Sibayan has since and continues to call into crisis the very institution of art making.
